I was in Homeplus yesterday and had to feel for some of the fish they were selling as pets. I saw four in these plastic cups with nowhere near enough water to move around in. Of course there were others in tanks but this I felt was unnecessarily cruel on the animals.

This is just the tip of the iceberg as far as pets in a superstore are concerned. Advice: Don't buy them...it just perpetuates the notion that they sell. Breaks my heart when I see iguanas without heat and just a pile of lettuce to eat.
Yeah I've seen a lot of neglected, sad looking and practically abused pets in Korea - I've been here for over 4 years and seen many many.
I'd never buy a pet here. It's a self centred act and will only continue to cycle or maltreatment or places like Homeplus.
In general, this country just does not get pets and/or how to treat animals well. I don't care how bad that sounds, it's true
