One of my students brought three hamsters to class last week - they don't look like hamsters to me though. The class ended and she whipped them out and cuddled them as the rest of the kids gathered round. Where was she hiding the pets? In a pencil case.

This reminds me of when one of my students brought her hamster to school. It escaped and was lost for two weeks. Remarkably it was found in our office two weeks later in perfect health. All we could wonder is what it ate for two weeks.....
6th graders tend to bring these in at the end of the school year. Yep they live in pencil cases or odd plastic boxes. I remind them they need water...etc.
